The Ministry of Education has advised that next Tuesday, January 15, all primary and secondary schools as well as the Barbados Community College and the Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic, will be closed to facilitate their use as polling stations in the general elections. (BGIS)
Persons eligible to vote in next Tuesday's general election can now view where they are required to vote at the click of a mouse.
That is because Polling Stations for the January 15 poll are now online at the Barbados Integrated Government Portal.
According to an official of the Electoral and Boundaries Commission, voters can access the information at the address http://www.gov.bb.
After clicking on the “View Polling Station Information” link under the Directory of Services Section, persons must then enter their National Registration Number.
Afterwards, click the search button and the respective Polling Station will be displayed. (BGIS)

Members of the public are advised that a number of Ministry of Health buildings will be used as polling stations on Election Day, January 15.
These are the Edgar Cochrane Polyclinic – Wildey, St. Michael; the Glebe Polyclinic - Glebe Land , St. George; the Randall Phillips Polyclinic – Oistin's, Christ Church ; the Warrens Polyclinic – St. Michael; the Outpatient Clinic of the Gordon Cummins Hospital – St. Thomas , and the Daycare Centre at the Geriatric Hospital – Beckles Road , St. Michael.
As a result, these facilities will be closed from 11:30 a.m. on Monday, January 14, and all day on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 . They will re-open on Wednesday, January 16, 2008 , at their usual times.
The Ministry of Health regrets any inconvenience that may be caused as a result of the closures and urges the public to plan its business accordingly. (BGIS)

All registered voters are reminded by the Electoral and Boundaries Commission that they should carry their identification cards (IDs) when attending polling stations to vote.
However, if any voter has not been issued, has lost or misplaced his/her identification card, he/she is still entitled to vote, and should therefore attend the respective polling station. (BGIS)
